| Sumario: | This article proposes an analysis on football tales and chronicles, written and published by Mozambican writer Mia Couto. In such texts, Mia Couto seeks to build an image of his country's society, evidenced from one of her most intense cultural manifestations, materialized in its passion for football. Although the history of football in Mozambique goes back to the period of Portuguese colonialism, even after the country's independence, football is present as its full strength. Thus, based on football as a theme, Mia Couto shows, literarily, the questions that exist in Mozambican society today. |
