Summary:This paper aims to explain some aspects of Foucault´s philosophical work and tries to connect some of his ideas with the education of modern citizens. We are going to do, in the following pages, a short biography of Michel Foucault. After that, the three phases of the development of his knowledge are going to be considered. From the basis of his ideas of power and biopower, the grounds of biopolitics, we will develop the biopolitics concept and relate it to education. From a discourse analysis as the methodological approach, the biopolitical theme will be considered on its connection to education. This study aims to support the idea that education is one biopolitical instrument of the government.
