Descripción
Sumario:Data visualization has become a fundamental tool to explore and communicate complex messages, especially in scientific communication. This study discusses the advantages of visualization and some of its main aspects in Open Science as a consequence of its tendency for graphic, near, and didactic datasets. This was a qualitative analysis, with a literature survey and case study. In total, three initiatives to representatively visualize statistical data on Covid-19 were analyzed. Analyses showed the communicative usefulness of these data visualizations to communicate information clearly and efficiently via statistical graphs and information graphics to several audiences. Via the chosen cases, visualization helped to analyze and reason about data and evidence, making complex data digestible, understandable, and usable.
