Descripción
Sumario:From May 1995 to April 1996 monthly samples of litter/soil were taken in three areas at restinga of Itaipuaçu: outer sandy ridge, inner sandy ridge and swamp area. From the 14.134 collected springtails, 5.556 belonged to the Order Poduromorpha, distributed among 3 families, 6 subfamilies, 15 genera and 20 species. The detailed morphological study of these taxa enabled to recognize six new species. The geographical distribution of some species was extended. The correspondence analysis and the multiple regression tests applied to the frequency matrix of taxa showed that the soil moisture, rainfall and temperature were the components that most affected the spatial and temporal distribution of the analyzed communities. These results also showed that the three communities have a distinctive structure and composition of Poduromorpha fauna.
