Sumario:Higher education plays a fundamental role in humanised training guided by respect for human dignity. General objective: to analyse the barriers that impede the academic trajectory of transsexual and transvestite people in basic education and higher education. Specific objectives: a) to encourage discussion about gender and sexuality from the perspective of human rights; b) to enable the construction of a critical awareness of the barriers that impede the academic career of transsexuals and transvestites in basic education and higher education; c) to discuss the performance of masculinity and femininity of transsexuals and transvestites. The methodology is qualitative, based on interviews that contributed to the research. The results can therefore contribute to reflection on the challenges faced by transsexuals and transvestites in their careers, from primary to higher education. Keywords: Education. Human Rights.
