| Sumario: | This essay aims at promoting a reflection on the innovations adopted by family farming considering the contingencies posed to this agricultural activity. A bibliographic research was carried out in order to present aspects of innovation and an overview of innovative agriculture, as well as a contextualization of family farming. The universes of agriculture and family farming units, due to their complexities, will always require reflections and debates about their contexts, especially for the discussions concerning the difficulties that may permeate them, as well as that is necessary to understand ways of circumventing them. It was possible to observe that the innovations disposed in the diversifications incorporated by family farming, in a heterogeneous sector like agriculture itself, are advancing by being motivated by decisions observing aspects of uncertainty as a contingency, and scarcity. |
