| Sumario: | This essay has been based off of analysis from an intellectual dimension of Torquato Neto which very few people are aware of: his work as a journalist. Between 1971 and 1972, Torquato Neto wrote a column called Geleia Geral, in the journal Última Hora, in Rio de Janeiro. The themes and the forms of these columns are varied, but there are some which reappear more then others through the work, cinema is one of them. This article is concerned specifically on the questions of cinema and its articulation as a mechanism of rebellion against authoritarianism. |
