| Sumario: | The implementation of wind farms causes direct and indirect, positive and negative socio-environmental impacts. The objective of this work is to evaluate and discuss these impacts. For this, a bibliographic review was carried out on wind power generation in Brazil and the main environmental impacts related to this activity. Then, semi-structured interviews were carried out with the social actors affected by these impacts and with the managers of the works located in Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia. Thus, it is concluded that the implementation of wind farms in Brazil is important, as it expands and enriches the country's energy matrix. However, although this renewable energy is considered green and clean, there are positive and negative impacts, which directly interfere with the quality of life of the community, located close to the project. |
