| Sumario: | In late 2019, the World Health Organization (WHO) recognized the outbreak of a respiratory disease caused by a new Coronavirus; SARS-CoV-2. Owning to the disease impact, the development of an effective and safe therapy against COVID-19 becomes indisputable. Several drugs have been tested, including Remdesivir, Lopinavir-Ritonavir, Ivermectin, Chloroquine and/or Hydroxychloroquine. The current systematic review followed as a methodological model - Cochrane Handbook. Six articles were selected from a total of 312 articles found in the Pubmed and Medline databases. The inclusion and exclusion criteria were based on rigorous and systematic criteria. Despite the efforts worldwide to discover a therapeutic drug against SARS-CoV-2, to this point, no effective and safe treatment has yet been revealed. In addition, although the recent disease appearance, its rapid spread, contagion, and mortality, makes it a cause for concern. However, there is a notable lack of randomized clinical trials in phases ll/llld with appropriate sampling and concrete results. Therefore, conducting a greater number of reliable and safe studies, in search of a treatment that changes the current global scenario is necessary. |
