Summary:At present, there cognition of natural heritage and cultural diversities has become the preference of geographic cutting as a search for development based on the creation or reconstruction of its own territorial identity. In this way, studies and attitudes that are willing to maximize potential considering the historical-cultural and natural specificities of the localities are increasingly relevant. One of the main strategies that structure the potential of the perception of territorial identity to leverage development procedures is based on the reach of instruments based on globalization, culture and local culture. This study sought to under stand the influence of globalization and local culture on the territorial identity of the municipality of Rolim de Moura-RO. The methods used for data collection and elaboration of the work were documental analysis and field research. Through the documentary analysis were found records on the cultural heritage of the municipality: the Mother Church, Durvalino de Oliveira Square and the Francisca Amphitheater Verônica de Carvalho; it was verified the calendar of festivities promoted by the Municipal Secretariat of Tourism and Culture together with associations, cooperatives and schools of the municipality, and the Movement Pro Cultura, created with the intention of implanting a municipal system of culture, safe guarding the cultural patrimony of the municipality. Field research, applied to 218 individuals, contributed to the of economic and cultural behaviors, influenced by globalization and its impacts, safe guarding the performance of these subjects that, according to the research results, even adapting to new technologies and trends, seek to preserve habits and customs inherited from their place of origin.
