Sumario:This article discusses the importance and the meaning of the coastal area of the municipality of Paranaguá, in the South of Brazil, for the inhabitants of the region. In order to do so, it reflects on the relationship between the festivities of Nossa Senhora do Rocio - inventoried by the Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico Nacional (IPHAN) and currently in the process of being registered as a Brazilian cultural heritage - with the Maritime and Port heritage of Paranaguá (State of Paraná). For the development of this article, categories such as Cultural Heritage, Intangible Heritage and Maritime Heritage were used, relating them to the case under study.
