| Sumario: | The purpose of this study is to analyze scientific productions on the late diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. To carry out this research, articles were consulted in the Scielo and BvS virtual libraries, using specific descriptors. There was a lack of available material on the subject in Portuguese. This is due to the predominant focus of the scientific community on the early diagnosis of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, which has negative impacts on the quality of life of patients in adulthood. It is crucial to raise awareness and awareness among healthcare professionals so that they consider the possibility of diagnosing autism spectrum disorder in adults. This is essential to serve a significant portion of the population who may be experiencing the challenges associated with ASD during adulthood. |
