| Summary: | This paper starts from the idea that development is a specific western “speech” that preaches social life improvement even though it stumbles on the capitalist cumulating imperatives. It aims at discussing the present “development” idea by reviewing the “Bridge over the Atlantic: Brazil and Sub-Saharan Africa, South-South partnership for development” report which was developed by IPEA (Applied Economics Research Institute) and the World Bank. The purpose is to promote reflection on the limits of the Cooperation for the South-South Development (CSS), and to problematize which kind of development is desired, and whether it is possible that the CSS would reproduce previous logics of accumulation and expropriation that featured other international “cooperation” models. |
