Summary:In December 2019, the first case of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus was recorded in Wuhan, China, which caused COVID-19 disease. For health professionals who are directly linked to the care of cases of COVID-19, there was an increase and change in stressors in addition to those that already occur in the daily routine of health services in general. The objective of this study was to identify, based on published scientific productions, factors associated with the mental health of professionals who work in coping with COVID-19. The studies show the work overload of health professionals who work on the front lines and the prevalence of some mental disorders such as anxiety, depression and insomnia. Given the findings, it is concluded that it is extremely important and necessary for us to take care of the mental health of health professionals, especially in the field of Nursing.
