| Sumario: | This qualitative research presents an analysis of the "function is like a juicing machine" analogy developed for teaching functions. The analysis used the structural mapping of analogies and models proposed by Ferry, in which it was possible to establish correspondences that made it possible to highlight the potential of its use in the classroom. The analogy in question provides useful resources for working with the concept of function in mathematics teaching, as well as pointing out other concepts such as domain and contradomain which are useful for student learning. |
