| Sumario: | The origins of agribusiness and agriculture can be traced back to the Neolithic period, around ten thousand years ago, when natural seeds and seedlings were cultivated and animals domesticated. The first reforestation and tree cultivation activities took place around 5,000 years ago. The emergence of agriculture meant security or predictability of supply for the population, which began to depend less on chance and more on preventive and preparatory action in anticipation of the consumption of desired products. In this scenario, with the advance and growth of agricultural production and the export of new frontiers, Brazil has stood out as one of the countries that exports the most agricultural products in the world. With this evolution of agribusiness, it can be seen that the transportation factor, especially its cost, is one of the most impacting points on the efficiency of the country's entire agribusiness production chain. For the logistical flow of distribution to work properly, interconnection points and connectivity between transportation modalities are necessary, from the origin to the destination of the movement. Tocantins is considered a new state, but it has been a major highlight on the national scene when it comes to agribusiness. Located in the northern region of Brazil, the state has a fertile and vast territory, which drives the development of the agricultural sector and its continued position as one of the country's main agricultural hubs. |
