Sumario:In a growing demand scenario for production systems with greater security throughout the agricultural sector, the cultivation of coffee Conilon with use of PPE becomes an indispensable practice for the farmer. The objective of this study was to quantify the exposure of personal protective equipment (PPE) at different points of the human body samples, using the manual and motorized costal sprays taking into account the different application times in a conilon coffee crop (Coffea canephora), along with qualitative assessments of equipment and major pesticide contamination risk simulation used in the coffee culture. Comparing the results of the hand sprayer to the different arms, there is a greater exposure in the left arm, which amount is significant and justified by the greater movement member for pumping the product to the spray nozzle, getting exposed to possible changes while the right arm only moves to direct the jet device. The knapsack sprayer showed that exposure values were high, with higher risk of exposure, both upper and lower limbs. In the motorized equipment increased exposure occurred in the upper limbs, in view of its increased activity in the upper Conilon coffee. The results indicated high risk pesticide application in practice for both the workers and to consumers.
