Descripción
Sumario:The book “Pandemia e Neoliberalismo: A melancolia contra o novo normal” by Roberto Calazans and Christiane Matozinho, published in 2021, comes as a relief in the face of the new coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and the prospect of a new imposed normal. That's because again, this old normal presents nothing, on the contrary, it tries to reject the ways of thinking about a new world where a common life is possible. Throughout the book, the authors work on issues that start from pandemic denialism, especially in the Brazilian context, and consider this as part of a project to exterminate a certain population in Brazil. In addition, they address the epidemic of depression that the world is suffering from and its relationship with the current neoliberal economic model,to finally present the central theme about the new normal and present melancholy as a possibility of elaboration and eventual creation of new possible worlds.
