Descripción
Sumario:Antonio Nobre and Alphonsus de Guimaraens stand out in the Portuguese and Brazilian context, because they introduced aesthetic innovations, concerned to formal and thematic principles, not like the French Symbolism, as Eugénio de Castro e Cruz e Souza, for instance, but their own. In their poetical works Nobre and Guimaraens stand out, in their generation' s context, because they put in their poetry scrong attachment to their local origin and representative characters as poetic themes; they introduced colloquial words or phrases to obtain musical effects from this procedure. By this way they reach one of symbolist's proposal: music above all. They also introduced the regional and provincial and daily as well as some Christian beliefs and practices popularly experienced. Those innovations anticipate some main points related to the poetical modernist program: the volksgeist.
