Resumo:In this experience report, we present the results of an extension project carried out in Nossa Senhora do Livramento community, located in Tupé Sustainable Development Reserve. The extension project was developed and executed by professors and students Technology Course in Agroecology at Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas - Zona Leste Campus. The project had as partners the Environment and Sustainability Municipal Oce in Manaus – (Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente e Sustentabilidade de Manaus – SEMMAS) and the Sustainable Agricultural and Forestry Development Institute of Amazonas State (Instituto de Desenvolvimento Agropecuário e Florestal Sustentável do Estado do Amazonas – IDAM.). Within the project, the activities were carried out directly in the community and had as extension methods the family farmers training through short courses and meetings which subjects were approached about public policies and credit lines geared towards agroecological production and family farming strengthening. The project was developed through the information lack perception related to public policies targeted to family farmers in the community during a meeting with the community residents association and from the experience exchange with them.
