Descripción
Sumario:This work aims to articulate the notions of technology, work, health and digital influencers and claim this articulation as an object of investigation for the field of communication. Specifically, we seek to understand the particularities of the exhaustion experienced by digital influencers from a literature review and exposition of examples (obtained by spontaneous observation). As a result, the notion of ‘algorithmic exhaustion’ is proposed, a sensation reported by digital influencers that one is going through ‘psychological problems’ generated by the pace of work dictated by what they recognize as ‘the algorithm’. ‘Exhaustion’ is characterized by a permanent feeling of dissatisfaction, discouragement and exhaustion, lack of creativity, fear of platform penalties and ‘not getting it done’.
