Sumario:The expansion and ease of the auto market makes consumers buy more and more cars and consequently buy more parts, such as automotive batteries, but not all the participants of this chain have knowledge about the appropriate disposal of this type of product. In view of this problem, the present study evaluated the reverse logistics process of the batteries of a large company of the branch that has a branch in Teresina-PI, based on the National Solid Waste Policy and resolutions 257 and 401 of the National Environmental Council. As for the methodological aspects, this study constitutes a research with a qualitative character, mainly descriptive and that, for its execution, it was used questionnaires, Likert scale and structured interviews and carried out with the battery factory, distributor and resellers of the product. This work is also the result of research in bibliographic sources such as books, documents and articles referring to the topic under discussion, in addition to using in situ observation. The results showed that the reverse flow of company is composed of four components and the company complies almost entirely with the relevant legislation. Today, the organization has a standardization of processes within the company, but it is clear the fault of the public power regarding the inspection of the distributor and the resellers.
