Descripción
Sumario:Rural development strategies are built by social actors from the awareness of their position in the social world. In the Far West of Santa Catarina, in the face of the sustainability difficulties encountered by family farmers in the conventional model of agriculture, the Small Farmers Movement - MPA mobilized its forces to affirm the project of peasant and agroecological agriculture. In order to develop such a project, the movement acted in the claim, construction and execution of public policies, in the recovery and dissemination of the creole seeds and in the strengthening of the short circuits of commercialization. This article analyzes the processes, actions and strategies of rural development of this social movement in the region.
