| Sumario: | The article analyzes the effect of the scientific undergraduate research program (ProIC) at the University of Brasilia considering the performance of beneficiary students vis-à-vis non-beneficiaries in entering graduate school and entering the formal labor market. The goal is to identify whether the student's participation in ProIC produces any significant differentiation for entry into graduate programs and, also, if participation in ProIC produces a positive effect that differentiates the participant when entering the formal labor market, in their remuneration earned and in their area of activity (research and teaching). The matching procedure (Coarsened Exact Matching - CEM) and regression models (Logit, Probit and Ordinary Least Squares) were used. The results reveal a positive effect for the beneficiaries of ProIC in entering graduate school, a negative effect for entering the labor market and in relation to the average remuneration earned by the beneficiary students. However, when verifying the entry into the job market in activities related to research and teaching, a positive effect of the program is observed. |
