| Resumo: | This paper presents an analysis of the behavior of an earth dam during the first filling. The analysis verifies the importance of the suction decrease in a compacted soil with a meta-stable structure. This collapsible structure has origin in the compacting with low energy and low water content. For the analysis of this behavior it was necessary to develop an association among two programs of finite elements, one to model the unsaturated flow and the other to simulate the development of the stresses in the end of the construction and stresses and deformations during the transient flow. As conclusion, it can be verified that the association of the programs SEEP/W and UNSTRUCT showed compatible results with the expected. |
