Description
Summary:This paper aims to shed light on the possibilities of dialogue regarding perspectives offered by film productions and their interactions with the individuals portrayed. It also aims to contribute to the debate regarding the production of images as a privileged medium in ethnographic research. This is carried out in the first exhibition of the documentary Turmalina Paraíba on October 23rd, at Feira de São Cristóvão, a documentary that records a 20-year change in this social space. The marketers and the professionals who were part of the filming watched the exhibition. It was a very rich experience for the viewers to see themselves on a movie screen 20 years later, to see their deceased family members and friends, and the changes that happened. The movie, which presents an aesthetic focused on emotion, and its exhibition in a space that is a reference of social trajectories fulfilled the mission that had been designed in the beginning of the film project: to be an expression of farewell and a form of remembrance based on recognition.
