Descripción
Sumario:Didaticmaterials are important strategies for the construction of geographic reasoning and can be used both in the school environment and as a tool aimed at raising awareness and environmental education in conservation units. Rio Grande do Sul is one of the Brazilian states with less protected areas coverage and 52% of them do not have any effective management policies. The Camaquã State Park is an integral protected area created in March 12th of 1975. So far, it does not have a management plan, land regularization or environmental education actions. This work aimed to develop educational and divulgation material of the Camaquã State Park, in order to point out the environmental issues and support environmental education actions. Two infographics were designed: the first referring to the protected areas in Rio Grande do Sul state and the second emphasizing the Camaquã State Park (area, potentialities, fragilities and land occupation). A didactic booklet with a geographical approach was developed to show the spatialand temporal characteristics and the environmental issues of the Camaquã State Park. The didactic fascicle is aimed for the school audience and can be used by formal educators (teachers) and informal educators (future park rangers). The educational material reinforces the importance of Geography in promoting the ecological and spatial thinking. Furthermore, it allows the awareness of citizens about the natural heritage and the environmental issues around them.
