Resumo:Introduction: sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are an issue that concerns the health governing bodies. Despite research showing an increased population awareness to prevent the STD each year increases the number of patients infected with sexually transmitted diseases. Fortunately for some of these diseases, was possible to develop vaccines, like hepatitis B and HPV vaccines. However, for other diseases like aids, research project seems far from conclusive result presenting. Conclusion: the use of vaccines is reported as a trend in this area and has been blamed as one of the best alternatives for the prevention and even treatment of these illnesses in the future.
