| Sumario: | The municipality of Jardim do Seridó is located in the Potiguar Central mesoregion and in the Oriental Seridó microregion, 240 km from Natal, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Its characteristics show great tourist potential, in addition to some peculiarities, such as its rich culture in religious manifestations and a unique urban landscape, formed by architectural complexes that give the municipality elements that make the destination unique. The attractions are summarized in natural and cultural, in addition to gastronomy, services and equipment capable of subsidizing the local tourist activity. The initiative to carry out an inventory of the tourist offer in Jardim do Seridó emerges as a way of cooperating for the development of local tourism, and in terms of tourist activity, the data collected are essential to interpret the tourist scenario of the municipality of Jardim do Seridó. The same is carried out with the adoption of its own methodology developed by researchers (teachers and students) from the Laboratory of Research and Tourism Studies (LAPET) in partnership with the municipal public management of Jardim do Seridó. O technical work was carried out with human capital, composed of professors and students of the Tourism Course at FELCS/UFRN. INVTUR is the first step to guide municipal managers and entrepreneurs of the tourist trade, in local tourism development strategies. From this, it is expected that this document will be an important part of the actions developed by the municipal management to develop a tourist activity in the municipality of Jardim do Seridó, in a more integrated and sustainable way. |
