| Sumario: | Objective: To analyze in the scientific literature the role of nurses in childcare consultations. Method: This is an integrative literature review, carried out in the electronic databases LILACS, MEDLINE, BBDENF via VHL and SciELO. Results: 23 articles were used. The same were grouped into thematic categories, namely: nurse's performance in childcare and difficulties encountered in the nurse's performance in childcare. Conclusion: The nurse plays an important role in nursing care from the formation of bond and comprehensive care. However, it is worth mentioning that despite the creation of this link, nurses face some difficulties in carrying out consultations, both structural and technical difficulties, with the need for training these professionals. It is also believed that the nurse is one of the biggest supporters of the team and takes care of the child based on acceptance, attention and cohesion. Current research on the subject points to an important gap and represents a limitation due to the need for research in recent years to improve the new process of experiencing the role of nurses in childcare consultations.
