| Sumario: | The present study aims to discuss the reception of Platonism in the lyrical production of Raul de Leoni (1895-1926). Currently, Leoni's name is mostly absent from the curriculum of Brazilian poetry teaching; his figure has been practically forgotten in academic circles. Despite this gap, his only published book, entitled Luz mediterrânea (1922), enjoyed great recognition and prestige among poets and critics of the period, including Alceu Amoroso Lima, Ribeiro Couto, and Múcio Leão. To better explore his work, this article is divided into two moments: in the first section, it addresses the place of Leoni's poetry and its peculiarities; in the second section, it analyzes the classical elements that constitute his production, demonstrating how the poet makes skillful use of conceptions generally attributed to Plato. |
