| Sumario: | This research aims to understand howWhatsApp interferes in the productiveroutine of Correio Popular newspaper,the first and only newspaper in Im-peratriz (MA) that is distributed usingthis app’s. To fulfil the proposed ob-jectives, the study included threestages for field insertion: newsroomeveryday routine appreciation; inter-views conducted with the staff; andparticipant observation. Based on eth-nographic precepts, the researchers’insertion in the newspaper routinehappened between October and No-vember 2017 and it was held in differ-ent shifts to allow full description andanalysis of the newsroom work. Thescript for observation and argumentwas guided by two thematic pillars, fo-cusing on the app interference: workdistribution and routine. Conclusively,the results show the app has redefinedsome traditional methods of gather-ing and disclosingfacts. |
