| Sumario: | The article deals with extramarital relationships “conducted” by some consorts in the city of Belém between 1946 and 1950. In view of this, the master plan of “Negotiated Certainties” is to seek to understand adultery as an institute that holds strength capable of leaving any malnourished and impractical marriage. Therefore, through the analysis of some unfaithful displacements and the daily life that surround couples united by the solemn celebration, the reflection sought to reveal the disqualifying force that infidelity demonstrated to have within the marriage. In this way, not infrequently, due to the rupture of what was thought of as moral, as honorable and as decent, the conjugal life imagined as eternal, ended in a litigious divorce action filed in the Family Civil Courts. In view of these references, the interpretation was based on 05 disputed divorce cases, on fragments of the 1916 Civil Code and on an article in the Catholic periodical A Palavra. |
