Sumario:Based on a reading of Procura-se Lobo, by Ana Maria Machado, this study aims to reflect on the different forms of texts and discourses in which the literary wolf is present, analyzing its literary power and its relationship with various discursive genres and cultures. Its importance is justified by the fact that, despite being a well-known character throughout time in many cultures such as ours, there are still few studies dedicated specifically to thinking about the potential of this character. Starting from this question and reflecting on the role played by the character of the wolf leads us to some fundamental questions for this research: how is the figure of the wolf represented in Procura-se Lobo, by Ana Maria Machado, considering the categories of intertextuality and interdiscursivity? How does this work prove to be relevant and contribute significantly to the "rescue" of the wolf as an important literary figure in current Brazilian children's literature? Our work has two main hypotheses, both related to the research problems summarized in the questions above. Firstly, in the making of the book Procura-se Lobo, the author employs two aesthetic-linguistic resources that are relevant to the structuring of the work and its stylistic configuration: intertextuality and interdiscursivity; secondly, the categories of intertextuality and interdiscursivity are important for the valorization of the wolf as a central character in the narrative under analysis, making it an essential reference for the configuration of the book as a literary text aimed at children and young people. Our aim is to study how the book Procura-se Lobo, by Ana Maria Machado, presents the character of the wolf in its literary, cultural and discursive "variants", as well as comparing it with the figure of the wolf as an animal, highlighting the different possibilities of reception of this text
