Descripción
Sumario:In a context of globalization in which the capitalist food system controls the production, distribution, and consumption of food, understanding the resistance produced by peasants is becoming increasingly necessary. Besides the importance of the territory in this process. Based on this, the present article aims to analyze the production, industrialization and commercialization of conventional and agroecological food in the rural settlements in the Rio Grande do Sul. The methodological procedures consisted of documentary research, data collection and systematization and semi-structured interviews. It was concluded that peasants reproduce in different conditions, producing territorialities that can be subordinate and/or autonomous. In cases where the degree of autonomy is high, the basis of a peasant food system is found. This can be characterized as a system in which the processes of production, distribution and consumption of food are controlled by peasants in alliance with consumers. The system is developed from cooperatives, management groups, families groups, that is, different forms of economic and social organization of the peasantry.
