| Resumo: | The study of conflict is an expansive area in present Social Psychology. So, it is important now to make a revision of the most relevant developments in the discipline related to the consideration of conflict. Generally, the main transition has been from the study of internai conflict-psychoanalysis, learning theories and field theory-to the study of social conflict, be it interpersonal or, specially, intergroup. The latter has been developed from intergroup relations theories-realistic conflict theory, social identity theory, minority influence theories-, as well as from game theory and the sociocognitive approaches. The resulting panorama is enormously fragmented and lacking of an integrative theory that could offer amore adequate image of social conflict. |
