Description
Summary:The main focus of this research is to study patriarchy and its (ir)relevance in the construction of negative female stereotypes, such as the witch. Taking into account that society has gone through historical moments of violence, domestication and servitude of women, such as the witch hunt period, as well as the fact that we live in a patriarchal society, the question is: what is the relevance of patriarchy in the control and in the discipline of women and their bodies, did the witch hunt contribute to this? Through a hypothetical deductive approach, with a feminist bias, the study seeks to carry out a documentary and bibliographic research. From this choice in methodological terms, we seek to understand about patriarchy and its (ir)relevance in the control and discipline of women and their bodies. Thus, it is also sought to understand the period of the Inquisition, the historical moment where the so-called witch hunt took place, in order to know who these witches were in the medieval period, as well as to understand the historical moment that can be considered the starting point of this discipline. and control over women.
