Sumario:Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder characterized by the presence of obsessions and compulsions. Some obsessions or intrusive thoughts can be sexual nature. This study aims to investigate the techniques used by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat sexual obsessions in people diagnosed with OCD. A narrative review was carried out by consulting the PsycINFO, Pubmed, and Scopus databases. The results suggest that the main CBT techniques used to treat sexual obsessions are psychoeducation, cognitive restructuring, exposure, and response prevention, as well as contextual alternatives that emphasize mindfulness and acceptance practices.
