| Resumo: | The crisis of the nation-state, its decline or extinction, has been discussed in the theoretical field of Political Science and Political Economy in the last decade, marked by profound changes in the world economy. Unlike being on the verge of becoming extinct, the States have acted in order to strengthen themselves in this process and, in certain areas, their role has been fundamental, such as, for example, in structural reforms. In countries with peripheral economies, characterized by a fragile democracy, it is necessary to discuss the political impact of this transformation, from the perspective of a capitalist world-economy. |
