Descripción
Sumario:In the light of French Discourse Analysis in its dialogue with social sciences, we analyze the video Medo de quê? (Fear of what?) that is integrated with other videos, for instance, the so-called “Anti-homophobia kit”, a pedagogical instrument designed to educational counselors in high schools, which was created in 2004 by the organization ECOS - Communication in Sexuality, in partnership with the Ministry of Education in Brazil. The Kit, which intended to promote respect for sexual diversity within the school and to eradicate all forms of violence, lived by homosexual students during their school years, was vetoed by the President Dilma Rousseff in 2011. Therefore, it is our goal to detect and discuss some (socio)discursive representations of homophobia – and of the related notion of homosexuality – put together in the mentioned video, so as to verify how such notions circulate in the Brazilian imaginary.
