Sumario:The new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19) pandemic has been a topic of discussion in traditional and digital media around the world. Anxious for information about the virus and its harm, the population begins to believe and share news without checking their reliability, which may lead disinformation, fear and chaos to other recipients. In order to ensure a scientific contribution on the topic, this article presents a bibliographic review on SARS-CoV-2 and, further, analyzes the use of the term “coronavirus” in Fake News. The results point to a growing interest of the population in seeking information about the term and the fight that has been carried out not only by the Brazilian Ministry of Health, but also by traditional media vehicles for the perpetuation of Fake News on the internet.
