Descripción
Sumario:This study aims to analyze the poem “Toiá Verequête”, present in the book Batuque, by Bruno de Menezes, as a literary writing that preserved the afro-brazilian religion Tambor de Mina and underground memories. To do this, it uses studies on Memory (Candau, 2016; Assmann, 2011; Pollak, 1989), Religious Sciences (Ferretti, 1996; Luca, 2010; Valcacio, 2022) and Afro-brazilian literature (Duarte, 2010), using Comparative Literature as a method (Carvalhal, 1991). By interpreting the poem, which narrates the incorporation of the Toia Verequete in the priestesses of the afro-brazilian cult, we realize that it is an Afro-brazilian literature that preserves the Tambor de Mina and memories.
