Descripción
Sumario:The article analyzes the influence of urban and scientific attributes on the localization of herbal medicines and medicinal products for human use in Brazil, with emphasis on the Legal Amazon region. In order to do so, we estimated the Poisson regression model of inflated zeros, which uses two processes to model the response variable, which are the counting model and the zeros model. The first refers to the municipalities that have industries of medicines for human use and industries of herbal medicines. Already in the second are modeled the municipalities that do not have industries of medicines for human use and industries of herbal medicines. The results suggest that for both types of industries the urban and scientific attributes are determinant for the location of these companies in Brazilian municipalities. The most attractive characteristics of these locations are the urban scale, the strategic location of the municipality, the ease of transportation and the technical-scientific scale.
