| Sumario: | In the last decades, hospitals have created strategies to humanize the health assistance, among these there is the implementation of toy library. This study had as general objective investigate the perception of the accompanying of pediatric patients on these spaces. There were 39 accompanying participants of four hospitals. For this investigation we used a semi-structure interview script, and the collected data were analyzed using content analysis. The results indicated that the participants conceptualize the playroom from the activities that are held in the space and the relationships established between people and the objects found there. Also, they consider it as a promoter of development and welfare. The play was understood by accompanying as part of being a child experience and allows it in the hospital favors the preservation of an important component of children’s routine. In summary, the accompanying evaluated the playroom as a space of health and development promotion. |
