Resumo:The isometric strength endurance (ISE) of upper limbs is important for the performance in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Contraditory results are reported in the literature about their behavior after BJJ match. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate this response through the maximum static lift (MSL) using the kimono lapel grip holding around the bar in BJJ athletes after one simulated match. Materials and methods: Twenty BJJ fighters performed MSL using the kimono lapel grip holding around the bar in the following moments: pre and pos (15 min) simulated match lasting 10 min. The paired t-test was utilized (P <0.05) to compared the mean of MSL between the two moments. Results: There is a significant decrease (P < 0.05) in MSL between pre (65.5 s ± 16.78 s) e pos (49.75s ± 15.01 s) moments. Conclusion: The BJJ simulated match lasting 10 min reduces the isometric strength of upper-limbs as measured by themaximum static lift using the kimono lapel grip holding around the bar. Furthermore, 15 min is insufficient for the strength endurance to recovery relative to baseline values
