| Resumo: | Paulo Freire gave us, educators, an inexhaustible source of hope, showing us the way to a humanizing and emancipating education in favor of the autonomy of the students. This work aims to understand the main contributions of Paulo Freire to Brazilian Education, especially with regard to adult education. Our work is bibliographical in nature, bringing together theoretical sources, such as the works written by Paulo Freire and researchers who are dedicated to the study of his legacy. We believe that the teachings and reflections given by Freire lead us to be more critical subjects and responsible for our history as educators. |
