| Sumario: | This study aims to present the way in which the development of myths surrounding soccer players is conferred by media, contemplating three paradigmatic cases: Pelé, The King of Football; Ronaldo, The Phenomenon; Eternal boy, Neymar. This research encompasses a hybrid and chronologically diverse corpus, consisting of narrations and written press covering Pelé Goals, during decades 1950-1970; the monitoring of Ronaldo’s trajectory on television in the years 1990-2010; and the social medias in which Neymar cultivates his self image, at the present time. The theoretical framework of this research covers classic studies regarding the myth, emphasing on those that consider its recurrence beyond the greek provenance, besides sports anthropology and sociology works. Methodologically, the research is bibliographic and documentary. Although the media range of the selected myths is eminent, encompassing followers of all ages, studies on their media developments are still little explored in the academic world |
