Sumario:Abstract – Four cultivars of sweet cassava were obtained through a selection process of superior genotypes conducted by Itajaí Experimental Station in partnership with the Urussanga Experimental Station. The final selection of these genotypes was conducted by participatory research method in six municipalities of Santa Catarina involving producers of sweet cassava, rural extension, municipal technicians and agroindustries that process this vegetable. The objective of this review was to obtain genotypes with desirable characteristics for producers and agribusinesses that process sweet cassava, as good quality of roots, easy peeling, quick cooking and good yield. Considering these characteristics the four cultivars selected were SCS256 Seleto and SCS257 Estação EEI, which present white pulp, and SCS258 Peticinho and SCS259 Diamante, which show yellow pulp. The four cultivars are recommended mainly for growing in organic system in the State of Santa Catarina.
