Descripción
Sumario:In this article I try to answer some questions about the relationship between science and politics in Florestan Fernandes: to what extent the social scientist -in the lineage of classical Marxism -Florestan  Fernandes  managed  to  articulate,  in  a  consistent  and  harmonious  way,  thought  and action, theory and the politics? Did Florestan manage to escape the traditional criticisms directed at the academic intellectual who favors science over social and political engagement or, in other words,  who  favors  theoretical  work  over  the  struggle  for  the  radical  transformation  of  class society? More precisely, how would he make rigorous sociological research compatible with the defense of the socialist revolution?
