Descripción
Sumario:The Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (Pibid) is a public policy initiative promoted by CAPES – the Brazilian Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel – aimed at fostering, valuing, and recognizing the teaching profession in connection with basic education. Considering the importance of initiatives focused on the education of future teachers, this study aims to identify and analyze the articulation between the theoretical frameworks of authors who address initial teacher training and the contributions of Pibid in promoting the integration of theory and practice through the rapprochement between universities and schools. The study thus seeks to reflect on how this program takes shape in relation to the school routine, in pursuit of knowledge that is more attuned to the realities of educational practice. This is a qualitative bibliographic study grounded in theoretical references that offer established and in-depth perspectives on teacher education and professional development. The article is structured to present the public calls for proposals that establish the rules and guidelines for participating institutions, within a framework that promotes the insertion of teaching candidates into the school environment. It also draws on authors who examine initial teacher education, providing essential elements based on the theory-practice relationship, which enables the refinement of knowledge applied to everyday pedagogical actions. The findings suggest that Pibid fosters the development of meaningful experiences by bringing pre-service teachers closer to educational realities and offering a strong foundation for initial training capable of significantly impacting student learning. The program's political role is also highlighted, as it promotes the strengthening of teaching initiation, the advancement of the teaching and learning process, and its contributions to the improvement of basic education and the overall quality of instruction.
